Kajaria Ceramics to Weigh First-Ever Share Buyback on April 30 Alongside FY26 Results

India's largest ceramic tile maker Kajaria Ceramics will consider its first-ever share repurchase, dividend and FY26 results at its April 30 board meeting, joining a wave of buybacks across corporate India.

Kajaria Ceramics , India's largest ceramic tile maker, said its board of directors will meet on April 30, 2026 to consider and approve the audited financial results for the quarter and year ended March 31, 2026, alongside a recommendation of dividend. Crucially, the board will also evaluate a proposal for the first-ever buyback of equity shares in the company's history, subject to the necessary statutory and regulatory approvals. Trading window and market reaction The trading window for dealing in Kajaria's securities will remain closed until 48 hours after the outcome of the board meeting is disclosed. Following the announcement, shares of Kajaria Ceramics were trading at ₹1,210.80 , up 1.40% on the NSE in afternoon trade. Part of a broader buyback wave The development comes amid a clear uptick in share-buyback activity across corporate India: Rolex Rings recently said its board would consider a buyback proposal. Aurobindo Pharma has launched a ₹800 crore buyback via the tender-offer route at ₹1,475 per share, starting April 23. Wipro last week announced a ₹15,000 crore buyback at a premium to market price. Why buybacks matter Buybacks — typically executed through tender offers — allow companies to repurchase shares from existing shareholders at a fixed price. They often signal management confidence in cash flows while returning surplus capital to investors. For a tile-sector heavyweight like Kajaria, a debut buyback would be read by the market as a strong statement of balance-sheet strength in a year of cautious demand across Indian ceramic majors.
